Welcome To 2010
Welcome to 2010! Or at least that was how I had hoped to feel when I woke up today. Last year was very difficult, but I reaped great rewards from those hardships. That is just my way. As I thought about this day arriving, I anticipated a response of glorious undertaking.
Instead, I woke up to shadows. Yes, it's winter and mornings are rarely glorious, even with fresh snow, but I truly expected anxious anticipation, not ever-increasing fear of the responsibilities that lie ahead of me. It is not the kind of fear that follows horror, but that which comes with responsibility.
Only last week we lost someone dear who has been the guardian of our strength. These past days I have moved forward simply because I must. No one has been aware of the turmoil in my mind now that we know our Phoenix will not again rise. It has been a long time coming, and great sorrow is simply not acceptable for me.
